There
is nothing quite like us! The North American Forum has served as an
international network of Catholic ministers and scholars dedicated to the full implementation in
all parishes of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and its
implications for reconciliation. Where else can one find a faithful and time-tested
group that brings together the full variety of all those involved in
this ministry: pastoral ministers, liturgists, catechists, and
theologians? Members of Forum share ideas and offer support for
initiation and reconciliation. They collaborate with other ministries
and organizations, particularly in the United States and Canada, whose
mission includes critical elements of the initiation process such as
evangelization, conversion, liturgy, catechesis, discipleship, justice, and mission.
The
ministry of Forum is carried out principally through pastoral formation
institutes/workshops conducted in collaboration with dioceses. These institutes
provide parish and diocesan ministers - lay and clergy, full and
part-time, volunteer and paid - with deeper understanding of the vision
of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and the fundamental and
advanced skills to implement all aspects of the Rite and its
implications for reconciliation. Institute leaders are among North
America's most experienced pastoral ministers, liturgists, catechists,
and theologians.
